HEATT (2024)
HEATT was a commissioned work I created at Connecticut College. This cast brought the energy, the heart, and the fire every single rehearsal. We had a short amount of time to build the piece, so I laid the foundation and encouraged the dancers to really take ownership of the movement and to make it their own while keeping the foundation. And they did just that. With a large cast fully committed to showing up, being bold, and bringing their full selves to the choreography, the result was electric. The piece got its name not just from the energy in the room, but from today’s slang term when someone ate on the dance floor, meaning they performed at the highest level with style and power. This crew ate every time, and that energy turned into HEATT.
