Dance For Me (2020-2021)
Dance for Me was a commissioned work inspired by the powerful words of Pearl Primus: “I dance not to entertain but to help people better understand each other.” Created during the height of COVID, this piece was about finding connection in a time of deep uncertainty. This work highlighted connection to self, to movement, and the resilience of what it takes to keep going. Even while masked and distanced, the dancers showed up fully, using the choreography as a way to process, reflect, and reclaim joy. This was not about performing for others, it was a dance for them. Each moment was personal, rooted in their individual perseverance and collective strength.
